The KISMIF 2021 Conference will be preceded by a Summer School: ‘Not Just Holidays in the Sun’ on July 6th, 2021 at Teatro Rivoli / Teatro Municipal do Porto. This Summer School will offer an opportunity to all interested parties, including conference participants, to attend workshops offered by experts in their fields.
Our KISMIF Summer School program, entitled ‘Not Just Holidays in the Sun’ invites students who are interested in or who are currently using- DIY cultures in their research to join us in an exciting and innovative Summer School program of a single day. 
The aim of this single day program will be to encourage discussion and experimentation about the documentation of DIY cultures, as well as to encourage a new generation of DIY scholars (Punk Ethnographers!) to incorporate digital cinema and new forms of artistic programming into their research practices. It will also provide a workshop based on the sharing of experiences around festivals and about the culture ‘festivalization’.
