J. Patrick Williams é Professor Associado de Sociologia na Universidade Tecnológica de Nanyang, em Singapura. Tem publicado amplamente sobre os comportamentos e experiências de pessoas que se identificam como subculturais e está particularmente interessado na construção social de subculturas, identidades subculturais e autenticidade subcultural. É editor associado da revista Deviant Behavior e membro do conselho editorial da revista DIY, Alternative Cultures and Society.
