Lila Tiago

 

 

Lila Tiago aka Lila Fadista is a singer, poet, performer and trans bicha activist, from Arrouquelas, in Ribatejo. He grew up in a suburb of Odivelas. She studied psychology (master’s degree in Systemic Clinical Psychology) at the University of Lisbon and did theatre between 2004 and 2013, first in an academic group and then in a semi-professional group, performing at Lx Factory and Teatro do Bairro. She lived in Athens from 2013 to 2016, working in a pacifist and anti-racist NGO. Back in Lisbon, in 2017, he started the Fado Bicha project, with João Caçador, in which he is a vocalist and lyricist. Since then, they have played more than 250 concerts, in Portugal and abroad, and released their debut album, ‘OCUPAÇÃO’, in June 2022. In 2019, Lila and João entered the show “Xtròrdinário”, at Teatro S. Luiz, and in 2022, in “Casa Portuguesa”, at Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, both by Pedro Penim. Lila participated as an actress in the film “Mulher sem corpo” by António Borges Correia, premiered in 2021, and also developed a line of performative research with Alice Azevedo, starting in 2020, with creations for TBA, the Olga Roriz company and the 5L Festival.
