The Almeida Garrett Municipal Library, located in the Palácio de Cristal Gardens, is an information and leisure centre dedicated to promoting books and reading to audiences of all ages. Inaugurated on 2 April 2001, it is a modern public reading library housed in a building of great architectural quality designed by José Manuel Soares.
