ABSTRACT: This Dossier will aggregate works on Brazilian literature called marginal, from that in line with the counterculture of the 1970s to the current peripheral voices. The term marginal literature was born around the 1970s, known as marginal poetry, independent or mimeograph generation, due to the different means of production and diffusion of its messages that went against the institutional and commercial dictates. This literature offered new meanings to politics and aesthetics in the midst of military repression, gaining other connotations in the late 1980s, becoming a manifesto of voices on the margins of survival, socially excluded, correlated with the so-called Peripheral Literature. The power of literature made on the margins, resistance and reexistence in the face of the established system, will be the motto of the present dossier, in its varied languages, themes, means and contexts.

KEYWORDS: Marginal Literature; Peripheral Literature; History of Brazilian Literature.
